FAQs — U-Tip Hair Extensions
Installation & Maintenance
Q: Can I cut U-Tip Extensions?
No — each strand is pre-bonded and should not be cut. The keratin tip must stay intact to ensure safe installation.
Q: How are U-Tips installed?
Each strand is heat-fused using a professional keratin bond tool. The nail-shaped tip is melted and wrapped around a small section of hair to secure it.
Q: Are U-Tips suitable for beginners?
This method should only be performed by trained stylists. Heat control and precise placement are key to ensuring comfortable, long-lasting installs.
Q: Can I reuse U-Tips?
Yes — with proper removal and re-tipping, the hair can be reused. Avoid product build-up and apply careful aftercare to maintain longevity.
Colouring & Styling
Q: Can U-Tips be coloured or toned?
Yes — the hair can be coloured by a professional. Avoid applying dye directly to the bonded area, and always strand test first.
Q: Can I use heat tools on U-Tips?
Yes — up to 180°C with a heat protectant. Do not apply direct heat to the bond after installation.
