FAQs — Hand-Tied Wefts
Installation & Maintenance
Q: Can I cut hand-tied wefts?
No — they’re not designed to be cut. Doing so can cause them to unravel. Your stylist will fold them during application to fit your head shape without damage.
Q: How are hand-tied wefts installed?
They’re sewn onto a track made from silicone-lined beads. This method creates a flat, discreet finish, ideal for clients who want minimal bulk at the root.
Q: How long do hand-tied wefts last once fitted?
Around 6–10 weeks per install — depending on your hair growth and aftercare. Most clients get them refitted every 6–8 weeks to maintain a flawless look.
Q: Can I reuse them after removal?
Yes! With careful removal and proper storage, they can be reused several times. Our virgin cuticle hair is built to last up to 1–2 years.
Colouring & Styling
Q: Can hand-tied wefts be coloured or toned?
Yes — they’re made from 100% virgin cuticle hair, which means the outer layer is intact and ideal for professional colouring.
Always strand test first — especially with ashy toners or bleach.
Q: Can I use heat tools on them?
Yes, just like natural hair — but always use a heat protectant. We recommend keeping temps under 180°C to protect longevity.
Care & Aftercare
Q: Can I sleep with them in?
Yes, but loosely braid your hair or tie it in a silk scrunchie to avoid tangling. A silk bonnet or pillowcase is also recommended.
Q: How do I wash my hair with wefts in?
Wash gently in a downward motion, using sulphate-free shampoo. Avoid rubbing at the root or weft line. Condition mid-lengths to ends only.
Q: Will they cause damage to my natural hair?
Not when installed and maintained properly. Hand-tied wefts are known for being lightweight and gentle when applied by a trained stylist.
General Questions
Q: How many wefts do I need for a full head?
Hand-tied wefts come in 20g rolls.
A full head is usually 5–7 rolls (100–140g) depending on hair thickness and volume. Your stylist can help choose the right amount for your look. If you need less or more than the 100g bundles message us first.
Q: What’s the difference between hand-tied and flat wefts?
- Hand-tied: Sewn by hand, ultra-thin, cannot be cut, lie super flat
- Flat wefts: A blend between machine and hand-tied — can be cut and are a bit more flexible for certain installs
Both are amazing — it depends on your stylist’s preference and your hair needs.
Q: Do they come in different textures?
Yes — straight is most common, but body wave and other textures can be custom ordered. Let us know what you’re looking for.
