FAQs — Flat Tip Hair Extensions
Installation & Maintenance
Q: Can I cut Flat Tip Extensions?
No — each strand is pre-bonded with keratin. You can cut and shape the finished style, but the bonded tip should remain intact.
Q: How are Flat Tips installed?
Flat Tips are applied using a professional heat tool. The keratin bond is melted and wrapped around a small section of the client’s natural hair, then sealed for a strong, flexible hold.
Q: Are Flat Tips suitable for beginners?
This method should only be carried out by trained stylists. It requires heat control, sectioning precision, and correct bond sealing to ensure safe wear and removal.
Q: Can I reuse Flat Tip Extensions?
Yes — with careful removal and re-tipping, they can be reused multiple times. Avoid excess product or pulling at the bond to maintain reusability.
Colouring & Styling
Q: Can Flat Tips be coloured or toned?
Yes — by a professional. Always strand test first. Avoid applying colour directly to the keratin bond.
Q: Can I use heat tools on them?
Yes — up to 180°C with a heat protectant. Do not apply heat directly to the bonded area once installed.
